Christmas Kindness is a Plainfield, Illinois-based nonprofit that brings people together through thoughtful gestures, community outreach and opportunities to care for one another.
We believe kindness is something everyone can share — through time, talent, resources or a few genuine words.

How It Began
Christmas Kindness began with a belief that being kind does not have to be complicated or expensive.
Founded by Stacy Adelmann, it grew from personal experiences with generosity and the simple idea that a few people working together could create meaningful moments for others.

What started around the Christmas season has become a year-round effort to encourage kindness, recognize everyday helpers and make it easier for neighbors to participate.

These acts, big and small, add up to something extraordinary: a community built on connection, compassion, and care.

Every spark adds up to something extraordinary. Together, we’ve seen what happens when ordinary people come together to share hope, joy, and community. Check out just some of our impact when we all pitched in together!
KINDNESS IN EVERY CUP
With handwritten notes from the heart along with a coffee gift card, these small tokens reminded 188 local nurses and social workers in PSD202 that their care never goes unnoticed.

JOY TO OUR SENIORS
We brought socks, lotions, lip balm, cards, bingo prizes, a cocoa bar — and most importantly, connection. Over 115 residents and staff alike felt the joy of being thought of and celebrated.
SERVING MEALS &
STOCKING MICRO PANTRIES
We’ve served at Daybreak Shelter and kept neighborhood micro pantries filled with essentials — because kindness starts with meeting everyday needs.
GIVING THROUGH
PARTNERSHIPS
Together with Helping Heavy Hearts, Team Nicholas, and other community partners, we’ve helped fulfill holiday wish lists, donated soft lovies to children in the hospital, and reminded families that they’re never forgotten — especially at Christmas.
KINDNESS BEYOND
PEOPLE
We’ve extended kindness to our furry friends too — collecting supplies for local animal shelters, supporting foster-based rescues, and helping pets find the comfort and care they deserve. Every act of love makes a difference.
Surprise & Delight — Everyday Acts of Kindness
Every act of love makes a difference — from surprising servers with generous tips to sharing smiles, notes, and small gestures of joy. It’s proof you don’t need a reason, a title, or even a dollar to make someone’s day brighter.
Everyone Can Take Part
At Christmas Kindness, we make it simple for anyone to make a difference.
Write a card. Volunteer at an event. Share an idea. Help gather supplies. Sponsor a kindness day. Tell someone they matter.
There is no single right way to participate, and a little from each of us can go a long way.

A Recognized Public Charity
Christmas Kindness is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) public charity, with recognition effective March 13, 2024. Based in Plainfield, Illinois, we are grateful to the volunteers, donors and community partners who help bring our mission to life. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
